Renting your own vehicle in Nicaragua allows you the greatest opportunity to explore and discover local sites and restaurants and to experience as many cultural options as possible.

Renting a small 4WD vehicle is recommended (and necessary during the rainy season from May to October). Vehicles can be easily acquired from most major international rental companies including Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, and National Car Rental. All have desks at the Airport in Managua. We recommend that you book ahead to ensure availability and inquire about their insurance policies in advance.
